Two impressive open wedding venues: one set on the dry riverbed of the seasonal Timbavati River under a huge Sycamore Fig tree, and the other on the Kuduspruit riverbed surrounded by the open African bush. The riverbed provides an aisle for a dramatic bridal entrée. An extraordinary wedding venue, hosted at the most beautiful time of day... sunset.
BUSH SETTING
For those who wish to marry close to nature, the open space of the African bush is the ideal setting. This venue is ideal for small or larger weddings. Guests and groom await the bride's arrival at the bush setting. After the ceremony enjoy celebratory sundowners at a venue of your choice, before being transported to the next location for the wedding banquet and celebration.

BOMA AT NGALA MAIN CAMP
Delicious cuisine is served at the fireside in the Boma, under African skies. The Boma can comfortably seat 42 Guests and there is a bar and space for dancing, should you wish to make use of a DJ. This option is only available for dinners.

An intimate wedding of 2 to 6 Guests can be accommodated in 1 to 3 suites at Ngorongoro Crater North, South or Tree Camp.
A CLASSIC WEDDING
A classic wedding party consisting of 12 Guests can be accommodated in 6 suites at Tree Camp. This would afford the party the privacy and sole-use of the entire camp. A wedding party of 24 Guests can enjoy ALL 12 suites at either North or South Camp. A group of 24 to 48 Guests can be hosted in the 12 to 24 suites of Ngorongoro Crater Lodge. This option would allow for the sole-use of one camp (North or South Camp), plus additional suites from another Camp.
The combination of both North and South Camps' suites will accommodate 48 Guests perfectly in 24 suites.
The sole-use of Ngorongoro Crater Lodge (North, South and Tree Camps) can host 60 Guests in 30 suites. This option offers an extremely private and exclusive wedding celebration, with the entire lodge staff and its facilities wholly devoted to the couple's wedding.

Stanley Island: Plettenberg Bay

Stanley Island measures 27,4 hectares and visiting it could be described as a truly African experience.
The Island is situated two hours drive from Port Elizabeth (200 km), and one hours drive from George (100 km) in the Keurbooms River.
Port Elizabeth and George host domestic daily flights with weekly flights into Plettenberg Bay.
Vegetation
The vegetation could truly be described as a magnificent example of the Eastern Cape Coastal Bush. Various succulent coastal types, as well as dense coastal bush predominantly occupies the Island. Many indigenous tree species are also resident on the Island, Milk woods and Wild Olives to name but a few. The dense brush has been carefully manicured in order to gain various access points, and to create a truly African Bush character.
Bird & Wildlife
Bird life is abundant on the Island. It ranges from the ever present coastal wader species, which is made up of Plovers, Jacanas, Herons, Gulls and others, to the bush varieties including Cysticulas, Honey guides, Apalis, Warblers and some garden varieties such as Mouse Birds, Sun Birds, Drongos, White-eyes etc. The raptors in the area include, African Fish Eagles, Falcons, Kites etc. A comprehensive bird list is available for visitors. There are also some Greybuck and Springbuck on the island.
Airstrip - Runway 18/36
Aircraft with a weight of less than 5400 kg may utilize the strip. Various sizes of aircraft have utilized the strip over time, but 4 and 6 seater aircraft have been the most common.
The 20 year old 1000m grass runway is 40m wide and suitable for light aircraft. The GPS location is S 34º00’24.5” E023º24’00.6” elevation 9ft. Please keep circuit flying to a minimum and throttle back for noise reduction as soon as it is safe to do so. Please phone in advance to let us know of your intended arrival times. Non-residents landing fees R100. No hangerage available.
Pets
Unfortunately due to the wildlife on the island pets are not allowed.
Parking
Secure parking is available on the mainland.
Ferry
We have two full time ferry operators. They both have cell phones and you can phone them at any time to ferry you. Please note that ferry trips for clients staying on the island are free except after 9pm when a fee is charged. Non-residents are charged R10pp.
Restaurants
There are numerous restaurants in Plettenberg Bay only 6km away and we would be happy to make a recommendation.
